I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough talk about politics at the moment. Instead, let’s have some fun with Lame Duck Day and discuss two very UN-lame Ducks and their good friend, Moose in:
This book may only use two words, but, trust me when I tell you that it’s hilarious! In each scene, Duck & Duck try to make party preparations (duck, duck duck…), but then Moose messes everything up (…Moose!). This continues until Duck & Duck can’t take in any longer, and Moose leaves with his head hung low. Poor Moose! Not to worry, everyone is included in the party, and Duck, Duck and Moose reunite in the end. Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen’s text expertly conveys this tale with humor, word play (what an awesome title!), and heart. Noah Z. Jones’ art depicts two tidy, party-planning ducks and the antics of one lovable, but oblivious and clumsy, moose. All this adds up to the perfect combination of characters and the perfect author-illustrator team to tell this winning story.
