My children loved arts and crafts, and many were collectors of various things, so I (and they) can certainly relate to the main character of this book:
Katie Spector is a collector—she makes art with everyday things she finds in school, at home, and everywhere in between. But, when her mom tells her she needs to choose her favorite piece and recycle the rest, Katie decides to get creative. And a bit sneaky. Kids will relate to Katie’s desire to keep every piece of art she pours her heart into. How can she choose just one piece when they’re all her favorites? Lisa Cloherty’s whimsical text is enhanced by David A. Rodriguez’s colorful, expressive illustrations. Put together this is a kid-relatable, fun book full of arts and crafts, sneakiness and creativity, and a surprising and colorful ending. A fun read for all! Read this review on Goodreads and Amazon.
