​Her “imagination on the outside” is the perfect way for Louise to express her love of art. Of course, she also expresses her love of art in her art. She works long and hard to create art for her show, hoping one piece will be her pièce de résistance. All the while her little brother, Art, is in the background creating his own little masterpieces, trying to get Louise’s attention. He gets her attention all right. In the end, Louise shows she loves art AND Art. This adorable story is brilliantly told and illustrated from cover to cover (even the end papers). The black, white, and red palette make the characters pop off the page. Louise, Art and the cat’s expressions are engaging and fun. And the story has humor and heart. I love everything about Louise Loves Art.
