REVIEW: HAPPY COLLECT ROCKS DAY!

​Pet rocks were a fad in 1975. Scavenger hunts for painted rocks became a craze (in some areas) around 2017. And you can celebrate Collect Rocks Day every year on September 16th. But, being a picture book person, I collected a book about a rock instead. Well, a stone. And a stick. And I wrote a review. And here it is:

Each starts out alone, but when Pinecone comes along and makes fun of Stone, Stick sticks up for Stone, and they become the best of friends. Until one day, a storm rolls through and the two are separated--alone again! Beth Ferry’s spare text (that say so much) matched with Tom Lichtenheld’s expressive illustrations (who knew a stick & stone could look so darn cute?) are perfect together, just like Stick and Stone. A must read!
